The family and friends of Ernest Marquez, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Specialist Marquez proudly served our country as an Infantryman in the United States Army, having served from September 1980 to September 1983.  He attained grade E4 upon his honorable discharge.  Then Specialist Marquez was ordered to active duty in support of “Operation Garden Plot” (Rodney King verdict riots) from 01 May 1992 through 9 May 1992.  For his service, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

After his service, Ernie was a CNC Machinist for 25 years.  Ernie enjoyed many outdoor activities, including jogging, hiking, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He also enjoyed playing handball and listening to music.  Ernie was a very caring person and was known to help those in need.

Ernie is survived by his wife Lisa, Sister Jeanette Lopez, Brother Gilbert, Daughters Cecelia and Anyssa, one Grandson and one Granddaughter
