The family of Sgt Peter Joshua "Josh" Jernigan has invited the SoCal PGR to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.
 
Sgt Josh Jernigan, 32, served his country for 8 years in the US Marine Corps.  Peter served honorably, recently completing his service as a Light Armored Vehicle Repairer of eight years.  This combat veteran of both Afghanistan and Iraq has two siblings who are active duty Marines.
 
Josh was the recipient of the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2),Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (2), Humanitarian Service Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Expert Badge (Third Award), Pistol Marksmanship Badge.

Josh separated from the Corps after having served in his last attachment with I&I, 4th LARBN, aboard US Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
 
This hero leaves behind his wife, his parents, 2 brothers who are also US Marines and a nephew.
 
The family has requested an accompaniment from the mortuary in Sorrento Valley to Miramar National Cemetery, a distance of approximately 4 miles.
 
This is a Combat Related mission so there will be tags.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero and family from the mortuary to the cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
