The family of Andy "Nay" John Gasca has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his funeral service and honor him for his service to our country, we would be honored to do so.

Andy John Gasca enlisted in the US Army on February 28, 1952 and served in the Korean War.  He was honorably discharged on February 16, 1954 at the rank of Private.

He was one of many members of a very patriotic family who served our country through Military Service.

After his military service Nay (as he was known to family and friends) worked for Portland Cement in Colton, CA for 35 years.  He was eventually forced into retirement by company changes and was not pleased about that.  He said he was able and willing to continue working for many more years.

As most of the family also did, Nay worked as a farm laborer in his youth. He used to say "I love picking grapes".  Another of his favorite quotes was "If I can't pay cash, I don't need it!"

Nay enjoyed camping in his younger years and riding dune buggies.  He also had a Harley-Davidson and loved riding, and had this in common with the Ride Captain of this mission, Candyman, who is his cousin. Candyman always called him "Uncle Nay", it just seemed right because of the age difference and the closeness of the relationship.

Nay was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sally and his mother Petra Gasca, and is survived by his brother Eddie, sister Carmen, and a very large extended family.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
