The family of Thomas Walter Burnard, 92, has requested the PGR be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Tom joined the US Army in 1944 at the age of 18.  He was a combat veteran of WWII where he was a paratrooper and a gunner on an antitank gun with the 155th Airborne Anti-aircraft Battalion., 17th Airborne Division.  Tom participated in the campaigns of the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He made a spearhead jump in Wesel, Germany and also saw action in England, Belgium, France, Luxembourg.  For his service he was awarded 2 Purple Hearts. 

In his post war career, Tom worked for the Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization, first for the Border Patrol and later as a Detective for the Department of Immigration where he served for over 30 years.

This hero is survived by his sons Thomas and John, 2 granddaughters and 1 great-granddaughter.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
