The family of Martin Oscar Montemayor have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to pay Honors on their hero's final journey home. It will be our honor to do so.

Martin was 68 years old at the time of his death. He was born September 15, 1949, and passed on December 13, 2017.

Martin was in the US Army from December 1969 to January 1974.  He was a Field Wireman with the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division.  He served in Vietnam and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the M-14 Marksman badge.  His rank at time of discharge was as a Sergeant.

After his military service, Martin spent the next 32 years continuing to serve his country as a DoD Civilian assigned to the US Navy at China Lake Naval Weapons Center where he ultimately became the Test Grounds Manager.

He was involved in competitive shooting at the Coso Archery Club with his friends and grandchildren, and Little League baseball, basketball and soccer with his three sons. While attending his church in Ridgecrest, he served as an elder for several years. In Crestline he was a loved and respected member of Lake Gregory Community Church.

Martin is survived by his wife Antoinette, sons Joshua, Cory, and Peter, seven grandchildren, and three great granddaughters.
