SHORT NOTICE!

The family of Ruben Rasso, 76, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the military honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.  It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.

From his obituary:  A loyal man whose heart was devoted to God, family and country, Ruben served in the United States Army, honorably during the Vietnam War. He then earned his Doctor of Law, and served honorably in Riverside County as a Deputy Sheriff for 30 years while raising his 5 children.

Ruben was the head of a large family and enjoyed spending time with them going to restaurants, on vacations or simply relaxing at home enjoying music and time together. Every Sunday he attended church, went to weekly Bible study and encouraged others to attend as well. He especially enjoyed cruising with his wife Carolyn along Pacific Coast Highway, watching the sunset and blasting Rock n’ Roll and Christian contemporary music.

Ruben inspired a legacy of service and patriotism to his family and community through his leadership and outreach as President and Founder of the Corona Veterans Memorial Division, the Riverside Republican Assembly and as a Board member of the Riverside Sheriff’s Association. As founder of the Corona Veterans Memorial Division, he persevered for 12 years until the city of Corona established a monument honoring all Corona-Norco Veterans. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 47, The American Legion Post 79 and was currently Treasurer of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1147, and Veterans of Foreign Wars 10577.

Ruben will be remembered in the hearts of many as a strong believer in Jesus Christ his God, whom he gave “all the honor and all the glory” for his many blessings and many accomplishments and as a Patriot of the United States of America,” Land of the Free Because of the Brave.” He is greatly missed by so many on this earth. Until we meet again in heaven Ruben Rasso is forever in our hearts and thoughts.

Ruben is survived by the love of his life of 50 years, Carolyn, 3 daughters, 2 sons, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.  He also lives behind 3 brothers and 1 sister.

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
