UPDATE!!!

PART 2 OF 2 PARTS

The PGR has been invited by Honor Flight Southland to attend their next event to honor another group of special Veterans to visit the memorials built in their honor in Washington DC.

On 05 May 2023, this group of veterans traveled to Washington DC for an all-expense paid trip to celebrate their contribution to our freedom and to thank them for their sacrifice.

On 07 May 2023, this same group will return from their trip to Washington DC .  We will form a flag line at the baggage terminal to welcome them home and to help with luggage, if needed.

Again, this is our chance to thank these Heroes in person, shake their hand, and let them know how much they mean to us.  They are American Heroes, living history.  Please bring your smiles, your hand shakes, your hugs, and your flags!

NOTE:  OVER 200,000 VETS HAVE BEEN SENT TO DC SINCE HONOR FLIGHT SOUTHLAND INCEPTION.

UPDATE!!!

Due to the various construction sites ongoing at LAX, parking across from the USO is no longer an option available to us for staging.  Open parking spaces are almost nonexistent at this time due to the construction.

After several phone calls including the LAX Police, several hotels, and the USO itself, the only alternative we have at this time to honor our Heroes returning home on this Honor Flight will be to park on our own and pay a parking fee.  Please have a debit/credit card available in case cash is not an choice for payment.

Since we are meeting the veterans at Southwest Terminal 1 baggage area, it is recommended to park in the Southwest Terminal 1 ARRIVAL section and stage at Terminal 1 ARRIVAL parking lot.

TIMETABLE FOR SUNDAY, 07 MAY 2023

2130 – Stage at SOUTHWEST TERMINAL 1 ARRIVAL parking lot (noted in update above).

2145 – Mission briefing.

2200 – Short walk to departure terminal Southwest Airlines.

2215 – Prepare for flag line for Heroes as they arrive and assist with luggage as needed.
