Our good friends at Wood Family Funeral home and the family of Donald Alexander Holm, 72, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his final journey. We are honored to fulfill their request. He served in multiple capacities while in service to include
Donald entered the United States Air Force on 27 July 1971. He served close to 11 years total, with a little over 3 years overseas. He served in multiple aspects of the USAF to include Training Specialist, Cable Antenna Systems Insultation/Maintenance Specialist, and Law Enforcement Specialist. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Senior Airman (SRA) (E-4). He received several awards to include the Air Force Longevity Service Award w/1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, and Air Force Overseas Ribbon. His last duty station was McGuire AFB.
Donald was a dedicated veteran. He is survived by his wife, Christine, other family members, and many friends.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approximately 18 miles. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

Note: Due to a second mission following, motorcycles are to park on Mill St except for the Asst Ride Captain and Papa Jim, who will be giving Don his last ride on the motorcycle. There will be signs for everyone to get staged correctly. I will be at this mission to help out and then bring in in the second mission arriving at 1330 hrs for a 1400 hrs service. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
