Norman Rufus Fuggs, 91, USAF(Ret) - Lompoc - 20 Jun
« on: June 17, 2025, 04:04:51 PM »
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Rufus Fuggs, a beloved U.S. Air Force retiree, American Patriot, passionate cook, community friend, and family man, who left us peacefully on June 2, 2025, at the age of 91.

Norm was a proud serviceman who dedicated his life to serving his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of TSgt.  After retiring from a distinguished career, he poured his passion into sharing his love for life with those around him. Whether it was spending time with local veteran groups, firing up the grill for a memorable barbecue or casting his line into the water for a relaxing day of fishing, Norm found joy in simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with family, friends, and neighbors.

A true community-minded individual, Norm was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His passion for good food, and cooking was more than a passion; it was his way of bringing people together, fostering friendships, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.

Norm is survived by his loving family, including his sister, Harriett Anderson 92, brother Cleveland Fuggs, 85, son Kevin Fuggs, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and humor.  His legacy of service, community, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Services will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on 6/19/2025 for visitation from 3PM -7PM and services on 6/20/2025 at 10am. A celebration of Norm’s life will be held immediately following at American Legion Post 211 636 N H ST where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor his memory.  Norman's ashes will later be scattered in the ocean.

Norman Fuggs will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his dedication, his passion for life, and the love he shared with everyone around him.

Rest in peace, Norm. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew you.
