The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend the final military honors of Richard John Anti. We are privileged to fulfill their request.
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Richard Anti. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, son, nephew, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a man of faith, kindness and quick to forgive.
Richard joined the United States Navy in 1972. He joined the naval reserve and served another 21 years and advanced to the rank of Chief Hospital Corpsman. He was recalled in February 1991 for Desert Storm and released from active duty on February 1, 1992. He returned to drilling status. While serving on active duty he challenged the California State exam for Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to be able to take the exam utilizing medical military training and experience. He passed the exam and became an LVN. He retired from the United States Navy January 2, 1999. Richard was also a General Contractor from 1981 to 1991. In 1992, he joined the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation working his way up the ranks until his retirement in 2017 after 25 years.
Richard was involved with the Tehachapi Masons No. 313 as their secretary. He was also a member of the Tehachapi Nazarene Church and enjoyed helping with the American Legion bingo nights.
Richard is survived by his wife Judi; daughter Jaime (Jimmy); son Shea-Michael (Megan); daughter Andrea (Matt); stepson Ryan (Jessica); and stepdaughter Cassie (Brenda). He also leaves behind his stepmother Sue; grandchildren Kaleb, Olivia, Jo, Paige, Miya, Lyla, Xander and Logan; brother John (Sherry); Aunt Peg Cousin Cat, ex-wife Penny, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
