The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Detective William Osborn and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to participate in the funeral of their loved one.  It will be our honor and privilege to attend.

Detective Osborn had served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 33 years, assigned to the Special Enforcement Bureau.  Tragically, Detective Osborn was killed in a lethal blast with two other deputies while moving ordinance.   All three were highly trained members of the department arson explosives detail.  End of Watch:  Friday, July 18, 2025.

Osborn had a deep love of investigations and a reputation as a peer leader.  He became a member of the agency’s elite special enforcement bureau in 2019.  He was described as “one of [the] the tenured bomb technicians regularly relied upon when faced with a new challenge.”

He is survived by his wife, who is also a detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, four sons, and two daughters.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this law enforcement officer who died in the line of duty.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this is a flag line only (FLO) mission at the church noted below.  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.
