The family of Joseph A Guerrero has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.
Joseph entered the US Air Force on 12 May 1978. After basic training Joe attended technical school for training as an aerospace ground equipment mechanic (AGE). In Joe's 13 years 7 months active duty career he served in various locations around the globe. His ribbons and decorations include the Air Force training ribbon, small arms expert ribbon, Air Force longevity Service ribbon with two devices, Air Force overseas short tour ribbon with 3 devices, Air Force Good conduct medal with three devices, Air Force outstanding unit award with one device Air Force commendation medal, National Defense service medal, Southwest Asia service medal with 3 devices, Kuwait liberation medal. He served from August 1990 to July 1, 1991 in the Gulf War, Operation desert shield / storm. Joe separated from the Air Force on the 12th February 1992 from George Air Force Base California. Joseph achieved the rank of Sergeant / E4.
Joseph “ Joe “ Anthony Guerrero 67 of California City passed away on May 4, 2026. Joseph was born in Topeka Kansas in 1959 to Joe Jr and Josie Guerrero, at Forbes Air Force Base Kansas. Joseph was preceded in death by his father Joe Jr. and is survived by Theresa Guerrero, his wife of 33 years, his daughter Cecilia, his mother Josie, brother Mark and sister Cynthia.
Coming from a military family, Joseph traveled to many states and countries in his youth but considered San Antonio Texas as his home. After graduating from high school, Joseph joined the United States Air Force and became an AGE mechanic. In 1990 he was deployed from George Air Force Base to participate in desert shield and desert Storm it was during this time that he and his wife met by mail when she participated in the “Any service Member Writing Campaign”. After his military service, Joseph was employed at Edwards Air Force Base as an AGE mechanic then transitioned into working in the HVAC field. He retired from civil service in late 2013 from plant 42 in Palmdale California. Joe enjoyed playing his records, tapes, real to reels, CDs and listening to songs on his MP3 player. Joe was a great amateur photographer. He loved bright colors, funny t-shirts and rolling around on his scooter.
Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family their home to the cemetery, (approx. 25 miles). Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery, please feel free to do so.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car).
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
