This will be a 2 Part Mission

So California PGR has lost one of our own.  Timothy Wayne 'Moboddy' Janeway, 66, US Marine, Vietnam Vet and PGR Member, passed away on 20 May, 2016.

Moboddy's family has invited the PGR to honor him by giving him his last ride from Arizona where he passed away to the family home, and to attend his funeral service. We are grateful and will be honored to do so along with PGR Arizona.

Timothy Wayne Janeway enlisted in the US Marine Corps in September, 1966 and served in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in September, 1969. He was assigned to the 13th Engr Battalion, 5th Marine Division.  His job was repairing and delivering the repaired trucks into the combat areas.  He would talk about how he would be shot at from all directions as he was driving the trucks to the front lines and had to drive as fast as he could to make it through.  He also was a guard at the encampments and learned to stay awake to make sure the enemy was not sneaking up in the night.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter's Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Tim was known by his friends as 'Moboddy', his road name.  He loved to ride his motorcycle, and did so all over the country.  He went on the Run For The Wall (RFTW) many times from So Calif  'All The Way' to Washington, DC to participate in Rolling Thunder, a tribute to the Fallen Heroes of the Vietnam War held on Memorial Day every year.  He also went on many other rides with friends including several to Casa Grande, AZ for the memorial celebration of the battle of Iwo Jima held every year on the Sacatan Indian Reservation.

Moboddy was a very active member of the PGR in So California.  He participated whenever he could in many missions over the years including funerals honoring our fallen, welcome homes of our troops and nearly every Wednesday he was present at a service held at Riverside National Cemetery for Veterans Without Family.

Tim is survived by his sister, Jessie, sister Theresa and brother Tom, four children, Michelle Heard (husband Tony), Brandon Janeway (wife Theresa), Tony Janeway (wife Cassie), Kenny and wife, several grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Moboddy is also survived his PGR family who will remember him as a proud Marine, devoted Patriot, and a big man with a warm and loving heart and a great sense of humor.  Moboddy you will be missed, see you on the other side brother..

Part 1 will be a Pony Express in cooperation with PGR Arizona to bring Moboddy home from Arizona where he passed away, to the family home in Perris, CA.  An urn bearing the Hero will be carried on a motorcycle by his brothers.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero from Amboy to the family home in Perris, CA. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
