The family of Frank Francis has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his distinguished service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Frank was in both the US Marine Corps and the US Navy from near the beginning of World II in 1942 and continued to serve to the time of the Korean War in 1952. He became a pilot of the F4U Corsairs and served with the Hells Belles Fighter Group. He flew over 75 bombing missions, serving in China, Korea and Japan. Among the honors he received during his lengthy service was the Distinguished Flying Cross. He had attained the rank of Major at the time of his discharge.
After the military he joined the Los Angeles Police Department where he served for 28 years before retiring.
He is survived by sons Douglas and Benjamin, daughter Rebecca, sister Genevieve (age 97), four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
