The United States Army and the family of Sgt. Joseph F. Stifter have invited the Patriot Guard to be present for the return of their hero and to attend his services.  We are proud to be there.

Sgt. Stifter was a proud member of the 1st Infantry Division, serving with distinction as a member of 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team as a gun team member.

“Sgt. Stifter was an exceptional soldier and leader in our battalion,” said Col. Miles Brown, commander of the 2nd ABCT, in the statement. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of the ‘Dagger’ family. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Dagger brigade go to his family and friends during this difficult time. His memory will forever remain with those who served with him.”

During his service to our country, Sgt. Stifter was awarded three Army Commendation Medals, the Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Action Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.

Sgt. Stifter is survived by his wife, daughter, and parents.
