David Courtney Braly, 79, USAF/LEO, Riverside/RNC - 13 SEP 19

The family of David Courtney Braly, 79, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him for his military service.  It is our honor to do so.

David passed away Friday, August 23, 2019.  He was born in Ada, OK, on December 7, 1939.

David proudly served his country as part of the U.S. Air Force from February 1960 to November 1966.  He was based at March Air Force Base and was a Senior Airman at the time of his discharge.

Following his service in the Air Force, David worked for the Riverside Police Department for 30 years and in that time, he helped begin the Riverside Police Explorer's Program.  He started and worked with that program for 15 years.  Mr. and Mrs. Braly’s son is currently a Captain in the Corrections Department.

David was an avid sports fan and loved the Green Bay Packers.  He and his wife loved to travel in their recreational vehicle.  One of their longer trips was taking a six week trip along Route 66 all the way to St. Louis, then up to Chicago.

David belonged to the Inland Empire Harley Owners Group (HOG) until he was no longer able to ride.  He and his wife would go for rides.  David also participated in the East Coast Thunder Honor Guard.  When his health began declining, he and his wife sold their motorcycles.  He had encouraged her to keep hers but she wouldn’t.  If he couldn’t ride she wouldn’t ride.

He is survived by Donna, his wife.  They were married for 56 years and have a son, Mark, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.

Note:  The weather is predicted to be hot so please stay hydrated and don’t forget to eat; it can make a difference with your ability to withstand the heat.
