The family of Harry Brandt Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Harry Brandt Jr. served proudly in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1970, time spent in Vietnam. Harry’s awards include Combat Action Ribbon; Presidential Unit Citation; Navy Unit Commendation; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with FMF Combat Insignia; Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device; National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Award.

After being Honorably Discharged, Harry was employed as an Orthopedic Technician at hospitals in Southern California for 35 years. Harry was an avid sports fisherman who enjoyed hunting “Big Tuna” in the deep waters off the coast of Baja California. Harry also had a love for the desert and enjoyed dirt bike riding and racing. In the 1980’s Harry was a part of two-man off-road vehicle racing team participating in events primarily in the desert regions of Baja California. In the 1990’s Harry developed a love for preparing gourmet meals. He loved to try new recipes while adding his own flare to the entrée. He excelled in his quest for culinary expertise. Harry retired in 2006 and purchased property with a home and acreage in beautiful rural Coeur d’Alene, ID. In this new environment he developed a new passion……” playing in the dirt” and becoming a wood craftsman. Harry was never one to waste time. He honed his home improvement skills and developed a love for restoring, building, creating and beautifying the land and everything God gave him.

Harry is survived by his wife Linda of 45 years, siblings Jeannie, Michael and Susan, children Kathy, Michelle, Jason, Andra, Lisa and Kristin, 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
