The family of Jimmie Lindley, 80, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero's final journey and Military Honors. We are honored to fulfill that request.

Jimmie served in the United States Navy from 12/59-10/63. At the time of his honorable discharge, he was a Navy SN E-3. His military service information is clouded by the fact that his service may have been clandestine in nature while in Laos, Cambodia and the early days in Vietnam. According to his nephew, Bradley, he was a Navy Corpsman who participated in special operations within these venues. He was said to be under the auspices of the CIA and his “civilian” cover was monitoring Shell Oil production in the region.

Sadly, our hero passed recently having suffered several forms of cancer including prostate cancer and non-Hodgkins's lymphoma.  It has yet to be determined, by the VA, that he was afflicted by Agent Orange. The family is still seeking that presumptive designation.

Following his service to his country he worked for American Airlines until his retirement. Jimmie enjoyed reading and was an avid runner participating in marathons when he was healthy.

Our hero is survived by his loving wife, Susie, two daughters, Melissa and Pamela and three sons, Jamie, Michael and Craig. Jimmie is also survived by two adult and two toddler grandchildren.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
