The family of Brandon Michael Wertz has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.   It will be our privilege to do so.

Brandon joined the Navy in 2001 and served until 2005.  He served in OIF, Operation Iraqi Freedom aboard the U.S.S. Nimitz, #68 (Aircraft Carrier); was in Bootcamp at Great Lakes on 9/11/2001, spent the majority of his service aboard the Nimitz.

Brandon loved working out and was an informal personal trainer to many, he loved music, including hip hop, reggae, movie scores, rap, and Reggaeton.

Brandon is survived by adopted father, Gary Wertz; Stepfather, Jim Krause; Adopted mother, Janet Krause-Crowle; Sister Latoyia Wertz; Niece Madison Rae Krause-Wertz; Maternal Grandmother Marilyn Hopkins; Paternal Grandmother Dorothy Wertz, as well as two aunts, two uncles and four cousins.

When Brandon passed, he donated both of his kidneys and his liver to three different people, saving three lives! One of the kidney recipients had been on dialysis for 11 years. Brandon even after his passing helped people just as he did when he was here.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
