The family of Greth David Snyder has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.   It will be our privilege to do so.

Greth or “G” as his wife Shelia liked to call him, served as a Naval Hospital Corpsman for 15 years from 1954 -1969. He earned numerous medals; three good conduct medals, Vietnam Service medal, Republic of Vietnam campaign medal, Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Service Medal.  Greth was stationed at a hospital base in Taiwan, where he covered numerous secret assignments, security details, etc.  He was also assigned to the USS Alamo and his last assignment was on the USS Sanctuary, AH 17 in Vietnam.

After being Honorably discharged, “G” was a traffic police officer here in San Diego from 1969 – 1993. He investigated numerous accidents and on one such call, Greth was able to save someone’s life, which he later would receive The Life Saving Medal from the Police Department for. He also had his own business in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, biodynamics.

Greth is survived by his wife Sheila Jo Toor-Snyder.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
