We have been invited by the family of LtCol John M. Mushallo, Jr., to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.  It will be our Honor to do so.

LtCol Mushallo served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years. He served several combat tours in Vietnam.  He was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, Combat Action Ribbon, numerous campaign, expeditionary and sea ribbons, as well as Navy commendations to include the Presidential Unit Citation Medal and Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation.

After returning from Vietnam, John served as a Marine Corp JROTC Instructor and eventually a Senior Instructor for 25 years in the LA area, at both Crenshaw and El Rancho High Schools, retiring in 2006.

He was an avid golfer (4 Hole in Ones as recent as 2021 at age of 84). His interests included his family and martinis.

John is survived by his spouse, Sue, and his children: daughter, Annie, and sons Jack, Brandon, and Ben.  He is also survived by sister, Justine, and a whopping 11 grandchildren.

The American Legion Riders from Post 53 in Hemet will be accompanying LtCol Mushallo to RNC.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be standing a flag line at the cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

“Heroes don't get happy endings. They give them to other people.”

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios and phones off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
