The family of Edward Zabala has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in a final farewell to their hero.  We are honored to fulfill this request.

Edward enlisted in the Army on 02 February 1966 and received his honorable discharge on 20 August1969 having achieved the rank of Specialist 4. While serving, he worked in transportation as a truck driver. His duty stations included Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Berlin, Germany, and Vietnam as a combat vet.

As a civilian, our hero spent his career with the Rowland Unified School District working as a delivery stock worker. In his free time, he enjoyed photography and DIY projects around the house. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball, football, and basketball. Spending time with family was most important to him.

Our hero is survived by his loving bride of 40 years, Jaqueline Zabala; four children, Leo, Leonard, Edward, and Mischelle; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and four brothers.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to the cemetery, approximately 50 miles. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
