This will be a 2 Part mission.

Part 1.

The family of Fire Controlman 2nd Class Carlos Victor Ganzon Sibayan has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

FC2 Sibayan, 23, grew up in a military family as his father served 21 years in the military.   He felt serving in the US Navy was his calling and joined in 2013 after graduating high school.  A surface warfare specialist, he was assigned duty aboard the the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Fitzgerald in July 2014.

Sadly, this hero was among 7 US sailors killed when the Fitzgerald collided with a container ship off the coast of Japan.

The family has asked the PGR to be present upon his return to his home port of San Diego and again at his funeral service.  We are honored.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero and his family from the airport to the mortuary. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

NOTE: This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving.
