The family of Adam George Winovitch has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Adam was born on 10 June 1931 and entered into Eternal Rest on 3 August 2019.

He joined the US Navy and served from 1949-1979, serving 20 years active duty and 10 years in the Fleet Reserve.  Adam trained as a Boiler Repairman and served on 5 different ships.  Among his many awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, United Nations Korea Medal, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.  Adam was honorably discharged at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

After the Navy, Adam worked for Zurich Insurance Company as a Boiler Inspector.  After retiring from the insurance company, Adam went to work at Long Beach Poly High School until his third retirement, at which time his family referred to him as a "Triple Dipper".

Adam loved to go camping with his family, as well as fishing and hunting.  As a devoted Catholic, he volunteered his time at the church.  He was very active in the Knights of Columbus.  He was very adamant about helping his fellow veterans, commenting, "what good is having money, if you can't help others with it?" He also said, "veterans need to help each other."

Adam is survived by his sons Paul and James, daughters Susan, Jean, and Alice, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.
