The family of Gregorio Martinez has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to Honor their loved one for his final journey home, we will be honored to do so.

Gregorio was a Veteran of the US Army and was assigned to 5th Calvary regiment 1st Calvary Division and earned an Honorable Discharge for his years of Fighting bravely for our freedom from January of 1949 to July of 1952. Earning an Occupation Medal (Japan), Republic of Korea , Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.

In civilian life Gregorio worked for the County of Los Angeles as a Roofer for over 50 years. He also loved to dance with his wife, Who preceded him in death and will be joining him on their final journey to Heaven. Our Hero was also very Gung Ho about being a Korean Vet. One of his final conversation with his daughter Linda was a reminder to pay his yearly dues at American Legion Post 272 in Montebello .

Gregorio is survived by his two daughters Linda and Renee , six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to Riverside National Cemetery, approx 59 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

If you cannot accompany this Hero, please consider meeting us at the Cemetery with a flag line as the hero arrives.

1100 - Mission briefing

1120 - Flag Line for our Hero for dignified transfer to coach

1130 - KSU to Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd.,Riverside Ca 92518

1245- ETA @ RNC (due to construction staging area not known for family, #8 for PGR)

1315- KSU to assigned shelter for Flag Line, Service and Military Honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
