Larry Janes was born on October 15, 1946, in Gilroy, California. He passed away on January 25, 2020 in Lompoc, California, where he lived for most of his life.
Larry attended Lompoc schools and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1965. He was drafted into the US Army in 1966 and served as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam for two years, during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1968.
He worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base before becoming employed by Lompoc Unified School District as a gardener, the job from which he later retired.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Earl and Jennie Janes, brother Randal Janes. and his partner in life Carolyn Hammerberg. He is survived by his sister Valerie Janes Morales of Lancaster, California and Karen Hammerberg, as well as a nephew, nieces, and cousins.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).
