Francis Burgess, 73, USN, Vietnam, San Diego - 21 APRIL 2016
« on: April 17, 2016, 01:54:36 AM »
Francis Burgess served his country proudly in the United States Navy.  He fell on hard times in the last few years of his life and was homeless.  The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand as his family at his funeral services.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Francis was a Vietnam Veteran, and like all Veterans who served in Vietnam, he completed his duty and commitment to his country with pride and conviction.

For his service, Francis was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Francis truly earned the gratitude of his nation and we will stand proudly for his Military Honors.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero to the Cemetery.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.   If you would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  Everyone is welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.
