The family of Arturo Chavez, age 73, has asked the Patriot Guard to pay Honors on their Hero's final journey home. It will be our Honor to do so.

Arturo was born on November 7, 1944 in Mexico and he passed away on January 10, 2018 .

He enlisted in the United States Army right after Immigrating from Mexico at the age of 18. His enlistment was from 28 May 1968, to 27 May 1970. During his time of Service he was stationed in Vietnam as a light vehicle driver. He was honorably discharged as a SP4, he received a Vietnam Service medal.

After Arturo completed his time in the Army, Arturo went to Chaffey College and received an AS degree. He worked for Fleetwood Manufacturing for 25 years and then became a Professional Photographer and did this until he became ill.

Even as a young boy, soccer was a major part of Arturo’s life. His passion for the sport only grew over the years. He was active in various local adult leagues, playing on teams and serving on boards. Most recently, he served as Secretary for the American Soccer League and manager/player of the Chivas “Veteranos” team. Arturo was also a longtime volunteer coach and referee for AYSO Region 65 in Alta Loma and local school districts.

Besides soccer, Arturo enjoyed photography, singing, telling jokes and hosting large parties at his home.

In 1995, Arturo fulfilled his long-standing wish to become a U.S. Citizen.

Arturo leaves behind his beloved wife Rosamarie of 46 years , 2 Brothers 2 Sisters, 2 Daughters Yolanda and Annette and 1 Son Arthur.
