The family of Long Beach Police Officer Anton Fischer invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their loved ones' funeral services and military honors. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Anton Fischer, 33, was born in Los Angeles and graduated from San Pedro High School.

Living in Long Beach, CA., Anton joined the Long Beach Police Department 3 years ago and was assigned to the East Division Directed Enforcement Team. Members have to be selected for the unit and despite just three years of experience on the force, Anton was selected because of his work ethic, sense of duty, and a community-first attitude. The team worked community-based problems such as gangs and narcotics.

Anton quickly earned the respect of his peers.  Police  Chief Robert Luna described Officer Fischer as an example of an ideal police officer and lauded his ability to be approachable and to connect with the community. Anton knew the importance for the police department to engage with the community and volunteered his time at the annual Pride Parade, and the Shop with a Cop event where officers take students on a shopping spree.  Anton loved to put a smile on the face of a child.

On 4 JUN 20, 1425 hours, Anton was riding his motorcycle to work when he was involved in a traffic collision. Sadly he succumbed to his injuries.

Anton is survived by his 12-year-old son, Cristopher; mother, Geneva, and girlfriend, Long Beach Police Officer Kaylie Lopez.

Note:  This notice is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this law enforcement veteran.  For those interested all are welcome.
