The family of Jess L. Gonzales has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the services of their loved one and honor this American Hero.  We are honored to attend.

Jess joined the Marines and served in the Air Wing Corps, Squadron VMF 112, “Wolfpack” from 1941 – 1945.  Jess served at Guadalcanal and in the South Pacific in New Caledonia and the Solomon Islands.  Jess was awarded a Presidential Citation for service. Jess was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In 1944 Jess married the love of his life, Jennie Monrecino Gonzales, in Guasti, CA and shared their lives for 64 years until Jennie’s passing in 2008. Jess was a giving man, serving his community as a volunteer firefighter in Cucamonga, CA .  Additionally, Jess and his wife Jennie opened their hearts and home to many foster children.  In his spare time Jess loved to work around the house and even built his own home.

Jess is survived by daughters, Beatrice Smiderle and Bernadette Sandoval; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and brother, Aquilino.
