The family of Kevin G. Tinsley has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.
Our hero dedicated 24 years to the USMC from 07/1991 to 11/2015 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Seargent Major. He served as a Machine Gun Section Leader and First Sergeant over three different Infantry Battalions. He was assigned to Marine Security Guard duty where he served in Syria and later as a detachment Commander in Canada. He was later deployed to Iraq during the initial invasion as a Platoon Sergeant with the 1/5 Marines. Later he became Chief Instructor for the MCIC school of Infantry. Following his promotion to Sergeant Major, he served as a Squadron Sergeant Major for VVM-163 until his retirement in 2015.
During his 24 years of service, he was awarded tge Bronze Star w/Valor Device, two Meritorious Service Medals, four Navy and Marine Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbon, and the State Department Superior Honor Award.
As a civilian, Kevin worked for Orkin Pest Control as a Branch Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Regional Manager. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching all sports, loved his family, and always made time for his boys. His mom lived out of state but he made it a point to talk to her every day.
Kevin will be missed by his sons, Tyler, Tanner, and Trevor, and his mother, Lynda. He has one brother, Steven.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approximately 12 miles. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
