The family of US Army PFC E-3 Robert Earl Peppy, 76, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service. It will be our privilege to do so.  This is a Flag Line only mission.

Robert was born in Montreal Canada and immigrated to the USA whereupon obtaining his Green Card, which when the duration ran out, he choose to serve in the USA Armed Forces instead of returning home.

He was drafted into the US Army at the age of 18.  He served in in the Vietnam War in the 2nd Batt, 8th Inf Reg, 4th Ivy. Div. Infantry Scouts assigned to Pleiku, Vietnam.  During his 10 months of service, PFC Peppy was in direct combat on numerous occasions and during his final battle, most of his unit was killed next to him.   He was wounded in the shoulder and evacuated to a hospital in Korea and then medically discharged.  PFC Peppy received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge, and the Marksman Badge (Rifle M-14, 45 Pistol and M79 GL), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Oak Leaf cluster, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Robert suffered from PTSD and exposure to Agent Orange all his life and was 100% PTSD disabled.  The Bullet was left in his shoulder and caused him problems continuously.  Despite this he maintained a good attitude and didn't burden others with his suffering.

After being honorably / medically discharged, Robert was a warehouseman and eventually a warehouse manager for his civilian career. He was also an AVID fisherman and camper. He was also a gun collector and a really funny guy who made everyone laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, Sister Deborah and son Jeffery, daughter Kori Peppy along with 5 grandchildren.
