The family of Raynaldo Mejia has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.

It will be our honor to do so.

Raynaldo was born in Duran, New Mexico, on 27 October 1934.

In 1956, Raynaldo enlisted in the U.S. Army. Raynaldo received training as a Medical Specialist.  His awards/citations included the Marksmanship Badge and Basic Artillery Badge w/Bar. In March 1961, at his honorable discharge as an SP5 (E-5), Raynaldo was at Fort MacArthur, California.

Raynaldo’s passion was to work out every day. After retirement, he worked out twice a day at our local YMCA in Montebello, where he was offered a job as a Senior Advisor. He helped teach senior members how to operate and use the exercise equipment and outlined an exercise program. He was also assigned to help and work with high school teens given community hours through the court system. They were assigned job duties, and he also helped them create an exercise program for themselves, where he saw them thrive and have a healthier mentality.

Raynaldo is survived by his children Naomi Ceja and Jose Mejia. His wife, Epimenia Mejia, passed away on 20 June 2021.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.

NOTE: Please observe the latest “COVID-19” restrictions.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
