The family of Colonel Donald Dean Henry has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Col Henry, 76, served in the US Air Force from 1963 to 1990.   In 1965, as a 1st Lieutenant piloting the Republic F-105 Thunderchief, Class 66A, Nellis AFB, Donald was named “Top Gun” in his class.

This hero’s long, distinguished career included 3 tours in Vietnam where, as a fighter pilot, he flew 129 combat missions.  He was also a test pilot for the F-105 Thunderchief, the F-111 Aardvark, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-4 Phantom and the A-7 Corsair.  He retired in 1990 at the rank of Colonel.

After retiring from the military Donald was consultant at the Pentagon and several aerospace companies.  He was also a realtor and writer of a novel and many short stories.

Donald is survived by wife Dixie Henry, Sisters; Sally Mecklenbury, Susan Sassic, Jeanne Coleman, Step Children; Heidi Huffman and Jensen Rufe.
