The family of Richard Wayne Piland has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Richard Piland, 79, served his country honorably for over 15 years in the US Navy, time that included duty in Vietnam.  At the time of his discharge he had attained the rank of Yeoman First Class (YN1).

For his service Richard was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Navy Unit Commendation {Combat “V”}, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Joint Service Medal and 4 Good Conduct Medals.

The family has requested a FLAG LINE ONLY as this hero receives his Final Honors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
