The family of Bud Eugene Welker has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him for his service and sacrifice to our country.  It is our privilege to do so.

Bud proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.  A veteran of WWII he served aboard the USS Savo Island which took a direct hit from a Kamikaze at Iwo Jima.

Bud and his wife Darlene Lillian Draper Welker (age 79) died in a house fire at home on Dec. 11th 2015.  Darlene was born in Utah and was a school teacher.  They raised 6 children, four boys including a set of twins and two girls.  One of the girls is Denise Welker Sykes, wife of Ray Sykes, long time PGR member.
