The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand tall in a Flag Line during Military Honors by the family of Robert Gene Castongia. We are honored to do so.

Robert served his country in the Army during the Occupation of Japan and during the Korean Conflict from 7-13-1948 through 5-8-1952. While in service he was awarded the Occupation Medal (Japan), Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Campaign Stars, 2 O/S Bars and a Good Conduct Medal.

After the service Robert owned and operated a General Engineering Contractor business for 47 years. In his off-time he enjoyed golf, hunting, traveling,, camping, water and snow skiing and reading.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann (Skalla) Castongia. He is survived by his children, Robin Jean Barrett, Karen Lee Scronce, Lisa Marie Kuznitz and Jeffery John Castongia. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren (one being a Green Beret S/F USA, Active Duty) and 5 great-grandchildren with one more to arrive in September 2017.

Robert loved God and Country and was a true Patriot. He proudly flew his flag everyday.
