The family of George Edgar Walters has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

George was born in South Bend, Indiana on 10 February 1930 and entered into Eternal Rest on 15 May 2018 in Beaumont.

After graduation from high school George went on to earn his Engineering Degree from Arizona State University.

Prior to being inducted in the Army, George worked for Ford Motor Company in Chicago.

George was inducted in the U.S. Army on 23 April 1951 serving in Korea where he worked as an aircraft mechanic.  George’s awards/citations included the Korean Service Medal and the U.N. Service Medal. George was honorably discharged as a Tech Sergeant on 22 January 1953.

George worked as an engineer at General Dynamics in Pomona for many years and that is where he met his wife, Esther.

After leaving General Dynamics, George moved to Salton City where he was a business entrepreneur where he had businesses that included owning the Mobil Gas station at the Sea, he was an EMT/ambulance operator, had an auto shop where he worked on dune buggies and cars.

Because of his wife Esther’s love of Banning, he followed her and were long-time residents of Banning. George was a master mechanic who specialized in repairing older Volkswagens and was the owner/operator of Walters’ Garage in Banning for many years.

George had the need for speed and was involved in drag racing go-carts, dune buggies and anything that would go fast.

George is survived by his daughter Marla and son Greg. He also leaves behind his nephew Patrick, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many family members and friends. George is predeceased by his wife, Esther.
