The family of Marcos Francisco Valencia, aka OX, has requested the Patriot Guard accompany their hero on his final journey and attend his military hours.  It is our privilege to fulfill their request.

A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Marcos served as a Lance Corporal (LCpl) and deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in 2005 during the Iraq War. He served in Force Protection, providing security for Camp Fallujah, and was a member of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) a highly mobile, mission-ready unit trained to respond rapidly to threats, civil disturbances, and emergencies. Marcos spent approximately a year in Iraq, serving his country with courage, honor, and unwavering commitment.

Our hero continued to serve in the community and worked at the Victorville Federal Correctional Complex for approximately 14 years.

Marcos had a lifelong love for motorcycles. He often shared that if his time ever came, he hoped it would be while doing what he loved most.  Marcos was a proud member of the Proven Few LEMC, some who will be in will be in attendance, honoring his life, his service, and the enduring bond of brotherhood.

A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, Marcos will be missed by his wife, Charlotte and their six children, his parents, and seven siblings.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as countless friends.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to the cemetery, approximately 12 miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just who we are honoring.
