We have been invited by the family of Henry John Waterstradt Jr., 83, to attend the Military Honors of their loved one.  It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.

Henry served in the US Navy from May 1964 – May 1968, obtaining the rank of FTG3 Fire Control Technician (missile Guidance Systems) Petty Officer III Class.  During Henry’s service he received the following medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/two Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device (1960).

After the Navy Henry worked as a Contractor for Department of Defense.

In his spare time Henry loved being a husband to his loving wife Jean (who will be interred with Henry today), a father, and grandfather to his six grandchildren, he enjoyed playing Bingo, gardening, and fixing things!

Henry is a long-time friend (over 30 years) of our PGR bother Lane Post.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, all PGR members are welcome.  This Mission will be an accompaniment from the family home to Miramar National Cemetery, approx. 21 miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
