The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the family of Louis Leonard Holmes, Sr., to accompany him on his journey to his final resting place.  It will be our honor to fulfill their wish

Louis was born 26 January 1947 and passed peacefully 2 May 2025.   Louis grew up alongside his siblings Jackie and Malcolm Jr.in a close-knit family that instilled in him the values of hard work, service and love.

Louis joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam Era as a Boiler Technician BT3, from 10 Nov 1966 to 10 Oct 1970.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of E-4.  His service and sacrifice earned him the respect of all that knew him.

After his service to our country Louis worked at the Long Beach Water Department for 4 years and then as an electrician for another 30 years.

In his early years, Louis made his way to Long Beach where he met the love of his life, Jessie Solorzano, at the historic Pike.  Their connection was immediate and enduring.  Their marriage was the beginning of a remarkable journey that lasted several decades.  Together they raised a large and loving family, welcoming 16 children.  His legacy extended even further with 50 grand-children and 37 great-grandchildren.

In 1988, his family relocated to Moreno Valley where he lived the remainder of his days.  A man of faith, he was devoted to the Lord and rarely missed Sunday at church.  He found joy and peace in fishing and he shared that love with his children and grandchildren.  He coached soccer, not just the game but also the values of teamwork, perseverance and sportsmanship.  He will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous heart and love for his family.

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Jessie.  His children: Terri, Lou, Connie, Cyndi, Peter, Christina, Tim, Jessica, Joy, Joseph, Jeremy, Jonathan, Angel, Christian, and Christopher; along with 50 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Louis will be sorely missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
