The family of MSgt James K. Johnstone, age 83, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his interment service and military honors and honor him with a Flag Line, we would be privileged to do so.

MSgt James Johnstone was born Feb 29, 1937 in Barstow, CA to the late Elmer and Leona Johnstone.

MSgt James Johnstone enlisted in the US Air Force shortly after graduating from high school in 1955 and served honorably for 23 years until his retirement in 1978 at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was an audio-visual technician in the Air Force and was assigned to many classified assignments.  He served two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

Jim spent most of his civilian life in Southern California after the military, and was a faithful member of Gateway Christian Fellowship in San Bernardino where he volunteered as the church photographer. He worked in civilian life with photocopiers and cameras, but his great love was his photography hobby.  He also loved to build model airplanes, and whenever he could, take off on a road trip.

Jim was preceded in death by both his wives, Elva and Delorse, he is survived by his three daughters, Deborah R. Estrada and husband Danny of California, Linda Tiefenauer and husband Rick of Desloge, Missouri, and Terry Johnstone of Oregon; five grandchildren, Christopher R. and Priscilla R. Estrada, Timothy J. and Matthew T. Montague, and Jacob A. Gardner; and great-grandson, Timothy Brian M. Tiefenauer.
