The family of Eugene Neal has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Eugene Neal, a member of our greatest generation, served in the US Navy 1946 to 1948.  In WWII Seaman First Class Eugene Neal served as an Armed Guard on the M.V. Day Star and S.S. Grants Pass in Asiatic Pacific Theater.  The M.V. Day Star was a Danish ship seized by the USA.  Eugene was on the S.S. Grants Pass assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, the operations commands of U.S. forces during World War II in the Pacific War.

Eugene was Post Office Supervisor for 26 years.  He did 4 tours to the Mission Field with Wycliffe Translators.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife Gilberta who is interred at Ft. Rosecrans.  Eugene’s wishes were to be interred with her.  He is survived by 4 children, 12 grand children and 13 great grand children.

The family is requesting an accompaniment to Ft. Rosecrans for Military Honors and Funeral Service.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the chapel to his final resting place.
