Miramar National Cemetery – Wreaths Across America (WAA) “WEEK”
Miramar needs additional WAA “Staff” Volunteers, Wednesday Dec 16 thru Friday Dec 18.
This year. due to Covid impositions. WAA at Miramar is constrained to placing wreaths on week days only, and then with a limited number of wreath placement volunteers. [Their wreath placement volunteers needed to register at the WAA – Miramar website.]
Wreath are being placed in shifts, with two shifts each: Wed. morning, Wed. afternoon, Thu. morning, Thu. afternoon and Fri. morning and Fri. afternoon. This is across two-one/half days and ten shifts. There are 100 wreath placement volunteers per shift.
The restrictions require additional WAA Staff Volunteers to guide the wreath placement volunteers and especially to avoid conflicts with the daily Miramar committal service and visitor activities.
There are some slots WAA Staff Volunteers can fill even at this late date. If you or a buddy have time, we could use a few more hands.
