The US Army and family of this Korean War Hero have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present as he is given his honors and is finally laid to rest.  We are honored and privileged to do so.

Corporal Witt was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 2, 1950 and died while a prisoner on January 31, 1951. His remains were not recovered at the time.  They have now been identified and were recently transferred from Hawaii to LAX, finally coming home after 64 years to rest at Rose Hills.

He has been memorialized in the Court of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu. Corporal Witt was awarded the Purple Heart, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

CPL Witts family will have private services in advance of interment at Rose Hills.  The PGR will accompany his remains from the mortuary to grave site in the Garden of Memories.
