The family of Michael John Barre, Sr. has requested the Patriot Guard to Honor this Cold War Veteran for final Honors. It would be our privilege to do so.

Michael was born on June 30, 1942, to Alban and Florence Barre, in Meridian, Connecticut.

After finishing school Michael decided to join the Navy. He enlisted on July 22, 1959. He served with the U.S. Navy until his Honorable discharge on May 8, 1963 attaining the rate of Boatswains Mate Third Class. (BM3).

Michael served during the Cuban Missile Crises at the height of the intense stand off between Russia, and the United States. The ship Michael was on served with over 140 other ships, on what has been named the "Quarantine Line". That was the line of Navy Ships that no one was allowed to cross. Either by Sea or Air.

Michael earned the Navy Expeditionary Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, & National Defense Service Medal .

Upon  returning to civilian life Michael developed a love for old movies. Michael retired from working in the Industrial field. Michael specialized in plumbing, and welding.

On October 19, 2015 at his home in Yucaipa, Calif. Michael passed away.

Michael leaves behind his lifetime partner Marlena Dyer, his sister,& brother, and 3 children: Lee Ann, Michael John Jr., and Tracy and many grand children, and great grandchildren.

"Standing for those who stood for us"   

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  Everyone is welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
