The family of Raul Martinez has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard to Honor this American Hero. It will be our Honor to do so

Raul Martinez, Born June 13, 1931 in Calipatra, California. He joined the USMC in Jun 29, 1951 at MCRD, San Diego, Ca. Took Boot Camp at MCRD and completed Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, Ca.

Raul arrived in Korea, Nov, 1951 and was assigned to Howe Company 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Infantry, Machine gun Section. Raul participated in Battles in Northern and Central Korea.

During Rauls time in Korea he earned numerous awards including  National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/13 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea and a Presidential Unit Citation.
 
Raul reached the Rank of Sergeant and became Section Leader of the 2nd Squad of Light 30 Machine Gun Section attached to Howe Co. He was Discharged in June 1954 from active duty, and was in the Marine Corp Reserves till 1959.

After separation from USMC, Raul worked with Harvey Aluminum/Martin Marietta Corp for 35 years as a production Supervisor.

Raul was also a member of the VFW, 1st Marine Division Association and the Korean War Veterans Association, Inc.

Raul attended his Reunions, for the 3rd BN 5th Marines to keep in touch with comrades.

Raul passed away on Thursday  December 24, 2015, Rauls wife preceded him in death and he leaves behind his daughter, Maritza

Note: Road is hard to spot. Corner of Briggs & Winchester (Hwy 79). 3 miles from intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester.  Turn left then another quick left. Do not go onto dirt road!!  Church is on the side of the Temecula Valley Moose Lodge # 261 ( Road is also gravel and dirt, be careful)

NOTE:  This Mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his Family from the Church Services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the Cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this Mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first Mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain. Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).
