The family of William Senter Davis III, including Arizona Patriot Guard Ride Captain Mike Davis, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

William Davis proudly served his country, in the United States Navy, from August 1951 through June 1955.  William served in the US Navy during the Korean War onboard the USS Colahan (DD-658), a Fletcher-class destroyer assigned to the Pacific Fleet.  He spent a total of 2 and one-half years in the Korean War Zone, both at sea and ashore.  Upon his honorable discharge, William had attained the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.  William was also the son of a career Navy Chief Warrant Officer that served in WWII.

After his service to his country, William worked for several companies in the Aerospace Industry, retiring as an Electrical Engineer.  He also enjoyed sailing, model railroading, and woodworking.  As a woodworker, he created many wooden toys for the local Children’s Hospital.  William was also a lifetime member of the Freemasons and Al Bar Shrine.

William is survived by his wife Colletta, son Mike Davis (Southern Arizona PGR Ride Captain), daughter Cindy Anfossi, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

The family has requested flag line honors for this hero’s memorial service at Miramar National Cemetery.  It will be our honor to do so.
