The family of DK1 Iluminado A. Alcarez, USN (Ret) has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor him for his service to our country. It would be our honor to do so.

DK1 Iluminado A. Alcarez (Al) joined the United States Navy August 20, 1954 and served until his retirement, September 4, 1973. During his many years of service, Iluminado served all over the world: Taiwan, Alaska, Guam, Japan, and Germany. He also served stateside in Alaska, Washington, Oregon finally retiring and settling in San Diego. Iluminado also served on board the USS Constellation from 1971 to 1973. He extended his career for an additional 10 years in Civil Service as a Dispursing Clerk at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in the Navy Finance department.

Al will always be remembered by family and friends as a lovingconfidentnfidant and compassionate person. Al was a generous and kind man to all those who knew him. He was well known for his delicious home cooking and hosting parties for friends, new and old, near and far. He celebrated togetherness and family.  was a skilled bowler and enjoyed fishing. He loved to dance with his lovely wife, Brigida on any given day. With his green thumb, he was often found gardening around his home, vegetables, fruit trees and plants that he prepared and used in his home cooked meals.

The memory of  will be cherished by his beloved wife, Brigida R. Alcarez; Siblings: Olivia Baber, Zenaida Hoffman, Eufrosa Gill, Manolo Guillamun and Alicaia Fajardo; His Children: Nicole, Teresita, , Corazon, Grace & Reginald Steward; 15 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and a large host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Friends.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to Miramar National Cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
