Part 1 of 2 Parts

The family of SPC Joshua Scott Davitt, and the US Army have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be there when this Hero comes home for burial and military honors.  We are honored to be there.

SPC Joshua Davitt, age 37 was serving with the US Army, assigned to Crazyhorse Troop, 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington at the time of his passing. SPC Davitt enlisted in the Army on 28 Aug 2012 and had his basic training at Ft Benning, GA, he later transferred to Ft Hood, TX where he joined his current Regiment as a Styker Driver. He served honorably, he was an outstanding Soldier who's attitude and diligence was well known and respected by all who knew him.

His awards and decorations include Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (2 knots), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Medal, and the Multinational Force and Observers Medal.

Joshua is survived by his wife Laura, and two sons, Jack and Levi. Many other family members and friends who will never forget him.

The PGR is honored to be there for this Hero and to be able to show our respect and thanks for his service, we also will never forget him.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the airport to the mortuary, a distance of approximately 20 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the mortuary, we will meet you there.

This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
